Estate Administration Services

Dealing with the loss of a family member or friend is painful and complicated; our goal at DVC is to ensure that the legal process for the personal representative is neither. Our experienced lawyers and legal assistants help our clients through all of the steps of probate and estate administration, beginning with a review of the will and initial advice and assisting through the complexities of probate, the realization of estate assets and the ultimate accounting and distribution to beneficiaries. Our services are tailored to the experience, needs and wishes of the personal representative.

Our Estate Administration Services include:

• Advising generally with respect to the administration of the estate

• Assisting the personal representative in verifying the ownership of the deceased's assets, including searching titles.

• Preparing all documents required to obtain a grant of probate.

• Applying for a grant of probate and, where necessary, attending to court applications.

• Attending to the transmission of the assets into the personal representative's name.

• Assisting with transferring the assets to the beneficiaries.

• Assisting with the passing of the personal representative's accounts.

• If required to do so, assisting in the preparation and filing of the necessary income tax returns for the deceased and the estate.
